Monte Vista provides water bottle refill stations to schools

Monte Vista Water District (MVWD) installed its first tap water fill station unit at Monte Vista Elementary School in Montclair. The new, improved drinking fountain allows students to fill reusable water bottles with high quality tap water while reducing plastic bottle use.

“This new drinking fountain is a great opportunity to teach kids about the value and quality of water we provide to our customers,” said MVWD General Manager Justin Scott-Coe. “It also demonstrates environmental stewardship by reducing plastic waste.”

A second tap water fill station unit was installed at Howard Elementary School in Montclair.

Schools within MVWD’s service area are eligible to apply for the District’s “Water You Drinking” Tap Water Fill Station Program. The program replaces existing drinking fountains with a bottle filling/drinking fountain combination unit that delivers chilled tap water at the push of a button.
