Grant addresses water quality

American Water, the largest publicly traded water and wastewater utility company in the United States, is currently accepting applications for its annual Environmental Grant Program, which provides funds for community-based environmental projects that work to improve, restore or protect watersheds, surface water and groundwater supplies.

Participants in California, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia are eligible for consideration.

To qualify, the applicant must be a partnership of two or more organizations who are working towards water protection in their local community.

Last year, American Water provided $172,000 to 47 projects in 10 states.
