G. Patrick O’Dowd has announced that he will be leaving the Coachella Valley Water District (CVWD) Board of Directors after serving for six years and will be joining the Salton Sea Authority as Executive Director.

He is chair of the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) Federal Affairs Committee and sits on ACWA’s statewide board as well as ACWA’s Region 9 Board of Directors, which includes all of Riverside, San Bernardino and Imperial counties.   He represents Western water users on Federal issues of mutual importance as a member of the Board of the National Water Resources Association.

Originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, O’Dowd earned a bachelor’s degree in Construction from Louisiana State University, and has an extensive background in business and finance, real estate, development and media. After moving to the Coachella Valley in 1996, he has held as senior management positions with several operating enterprises including real estate development, publishing, fitness and faith-based institutions.
