CVWD Employee Recognized for Innovation and Efficiency

In February, the Cucamonga Valley Water District recognized Randy Stewart, Controls Analyst as the recipient of its Employee Innovation Recognition Program Award. This program was established to recognize employees who are forward-thinking and have implemented tools, policies, and procedures that have improved work processes and provided solutions to enhance district operations, which also resulted in time and financial savings. Mr. Stewart was honored for his dedication and contributions to enhancing how the District’s machines and equipment function together, which allow CVWD’s water and wastewater systems to operate continuously.

“CVWD, as a whole, has been awarded and recognized for our energy efficiency programs as well as other innovative programs, and much of this is attributed to the work produced by Mr. Stewart,” shared Production Manager, Mike Maestas. In his position as Controls Analyst, Mr. Stewart is responsible for making automatic happen. Motors, valves, pumps and other equipment vital to the services provided by CVWD must be automated to run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This efficiency is critical to pump water out of the ground, to clean and treat water, and move water throughout the district’s 47 square mile service area. Mr. Stewart has developed tools and implemented procedures that are essential to the systems’ reliability, efficiency, and quality.

“CVWD focuses on Service, Water and People, to successfully carry out our mission,” commented Board President James V. Curatalo Jr. “The People not only refers to our valued customers, but the dedicated employees who proudly serve our community. This program is one way the District recognizes the hard work and forward-thinking of our team, and we commend Mr. Stewart for his commitment to excellence.”

During his tenure at CVWD, Mr. Stewart has excelled in his career by being committed to continuing his education. He earned both his Bachelors and Masters Degrees outside of work hours to further his expertise and increase the value he provides to the district. CVWD fosters individual growth and development and Mr. Stewart is a true representation of this. For more information about CVWD, please visit CVWDwater.com or call (909) 987-2591.
