Water agency acquisition in the work

On Thursday, the California Public Utilities Commission approved a request for California American Water (CAW) to acquire Dunnigan Water Works, a water utility agency in Yolo County.

The acquisition will provide CAW’s Sacramento-based customers with 239 new service connections. According to a news release by CAW, the agency services nearly 60,000 homes and business in parts of Sacramento, Yolo and Placer Counties.

“I am pleased to welcome Dunnigan customers and look forward to introducing them to our conservation programs in the coming months including rebates, conservation services and water saving devices we make available to our customers,” said California American Water’s Director of Northern California Operations S. Audie Foster. “Customers will also have access to new payment options, web self-service and other features to make their contact with us more convenient.”

The acquisition is expected to be complete by the end of 2015.
