The California-Nevada Section of the American Water Works Association (CA-NV AWWA) will host their Annual Fall Conference virtually October 18-21, 2021. The four-day event will include an opening general session, awards luncheon and will provide training classes for professional contact hours. The event reaches skilled distribution operators, treatment operators, engineers, and field professionals from the world of drinking water.
Executive Director Sue Mosburg states, “CA-NV Section conferences provide an opportunity for attendees to learn about the latest innovative thoughts and projects happening in the region. We also offer continuing education credit. Attendees will build their professional knowledge while learning directly about regulatory policies and new water issues. This year’s event will include a technical program, annual membership meetings, sponsor showcases, and networking opportunities.”
This year’s keynote address will be delivered by AWWA A.P. Black Research Award winner, Issam Najm. Najm has been a member of AWWA since 1985 and an active member of the CA-NV Section. Najm is known for his real-world application of working with system operators to implement research-based solutions to their treatment challenges. His address will focus on reliability and resiliency.
Section Chair Joy Eldredge adds, “We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming virtual gathering. It is exciting to bring water professionals together to share knowledge and information amongst each other. The pandemic has not slowed our industry as we all continue to seamlessly provide essential 24/7 water service to the public, keep critical supply chains flowing, and invest in technology and infrastructure. Come share your knowledge and experiences with others and learn from them in the process. Our members and visitors together bring value and strength to CA-NV AWWA.”
