Coachella Valley Water District (CVWD) has welcomed a new Director of Environmental Services.
Joanne Yen Le comes to CVWD with broad and extensive experience in environmental services, wastewater programs, drinking water systems, stormwater program management and laboratory leadership.
She most recently served as Laboratory and Environmental Services Manager for Monterey One Water, a public utility in Monterey, California, that offers regional sewer system treatment and management, and recycled water production. Le also served as Environmental Service Manager for the City of Richmond, California.
At CVWD, she will oversee the Environmental Services Department and the operations of the department’s divisions that include water quality, laboratory, source control, water resources, and environmental compliance.
Le holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Ecology and a Master of Science in Environmental Health Science and Policy, both from the University of California, Irvine, and a Master of Business Administration from Pittsburg State University, Kansas.
She replaces former Director of Environmental Services Steve Bigley, who retired earlier this year.
