ACWA, Region 1, recruiting candidates to fill board vacancy

Region 1 of the Association of California Water Agencies is recruiting candidates to submit applications to fill a vacancy on its board for the 2016-17 term. Region 1 includes the counties of Del Norte, Humboldt, Lake, Marin, Mendocino, Napa, Sonoma, Trinity, and Siskiyou Counties.

Region 1 board members determine the direction and focus of regional issues and activities. The mission of the ACWA regions is to provide grassroots support to advance ACWA’s legislative and regulatory agenda. Members of the regional boards also support the fulfillment of ACWA’s goals and play an integral leadership role of the association as a whole.

Interested candidates of Region 1 ACWA member agencies are encouraged to review various ACWA leadership documents prior to submitting their application packet. Nominations are due August 31. Candidates applying for the Region 1 vacancy will need to complete a Region Board Candidate Nomination Form and obtain a resolution in your support from your local agency’s Board of Directors.

Interested individuals with questions can contact ACWA Regional Affairs Representative Katie Dahl or ACWA Region & Member Services Specialist Ana Torres at (916) 441-4545. The Region 1 Board will determine its new appointee and make its decision public within the region following the application deadline.
