Vodka company takes on global initiative

Absolut Elyx, the elite vodka company, has partnered with Water For People, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide quality drinking water to all. For every bottle of Absolute Elyx Pineapple of Hospitality sold in the U.S., Water For People will provide 560 liters of water – enough for one month – to a person. For every regular bottle of Absolut Elyx, Water For People will provide 140 liters of water – enough for one week – to a person.

“While a spirits company and water non-profit may seem like an unlikely pair, water is the foundation of both our organizations. We also share a commitment to integrity and sustainability, and together we hope to amplify the goals and urgency in solving the global water crisis,” Jonas Tahlin, CEO of Absolut Elyx, said in a statement.

The five-year partnership began in July, but is just now being made public. The Absolut Company hopes to provide 178 million gallons of drinking water each year.
