District Will Showcase Water Treatment, Conservation and Reliability at Free Event

Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District (EVMWD) will hold their annual Splash into Spring event on Saturday, March 14 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the District’s office 31315 Chaney Street, Lake Elsinore.

Attendees will be able to peak into the daily work at the District through demonstrations and interactive displays, learning about the process EVMWD uses to treat more than 5.5 million gallons of sewer water per day.

Activities at the free event include: a virtual tour of the Colorado River Aqueduct, fixing a leaky water main, performing a valve exercise, cleaning up a polluted watershed and exploring pipes with robotics and video cameras. Landscape and irrigation expert, Master Gardeners, local nurseries and home improvement stores will be on hand to answer questions about California friendly plants, outdoor irrigation and water saving devices.

Visitors can also tour the facility’s sewer plant to see how wastewater is treated to become recycled water.
