Secretary Wade Crowfoot to Deliver Keynote Address at Southern California Water Conference

The Building Industry Association of Southern California Baldy View Chapter has announced the headliner for this year’s Southern California Water Conference will be Wade Crowfoot, California Secretary for the Natural Resources Agency.

Crowfoot was appointed California Secretary for Natural Resources by Governor Gavin Newsom in January 2019. As Secretary, Crowfoot oversees an agency of 19,000 employees charged with protecting and managing California’s diverse resources. This includes stewarding the state’s forests and natural lands, rivers and waterways, coast and ocean, fish and wildlife, and energy development. As a member of the Governor’s cabinet, he advises the Governor on natural resources and environmental issues.

For the past 13 years, the BIA has held the conference in San Bernardino County, but this year the conference will be presented online due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The conference will take place August 14 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and will feature panel discussions such as: “The Delta Debate”, “Preparing for Emergencies”, “Recycled Water in 2020”, “Inland Southern California’s Water Story” and “Innovation in Water”.

“We are delighted to have Secretary Crowfoot deliver the keynote address this year,” said Carlos Rodriguez, BIA Baldy View Chapter Executive Officer.  “We very much look forward to hearing about the administration’s priorities and the state’s water portfolio.”

The Southern California Water Conference will be presented strictly online this year. Tickets are $65 per person. To purchase tickets or for additional information visit: http://www.biabuild.com/water-conference.
