West Basin offers generous rebate for turf replacement program

West Basin Municipal Water District has brought out the BIG incentives to help residents conserve water. Eligible residents in the District’s service area can now apply for incentives worth up to $27,000 through the District’s new Grass Replacement+ program.

The Grass Replacement+ program offers residents $5 for every square foot of lawn removed, up to $25,000 total.

Now for the plus part, for a limited time residents can get a free drought-resistant tree and free custom landscape design (an additional value of up to $2,000).

“Watering outdoor landscapes can account for roughly 50% of residential water use,” said West Basin
Board President Donald L. Dear. “We urge our eligible residents to take full advantage of Grass Replacement+ to revitalize their home gardens while saving water and money during this continuing
drought.”

West Basin service area residents can get more information, confirm eligibility, and start an application
by visiting www.westbasin.org/grass-plus. Custom landscape designs and free drought-resistant trees
are available on a first-come first-served basis.
