West Basin Recognizes Community Volunteers

Since 2014, West Basin has provided more than 8,000 free rain barrels to residents throughout the District’s 180-square mile service area. West Basin’s rain barrel events regularly attract hundreds of participants at a time, requiring a dedicated team of volunteers who work together to ensure that events run smoothly.

Local partners volunteer their time at neighborhood rain barrel distribution events several times per year. West Basin is grateful for each and every volunteer who has helped at one of the District’s events. The success of this program would not be possible without community partner support.

West Basin proudly recognizes the following organizations for their support at recent rain barrel giveaway events:

Junipero Serra High School and Lomita Sister City Association

Students and volunteers assisted West Basin with distributing more than 400 rain barrels at the District’s March 7 event in Gardena.

Leadership Hermosa Beach

Volunteers assisted West Basin with distributing 300 rain barrels at the District’s February 15 event in Hermosa Beach.

Wiseburn Education Foundation

Volunteers assisted West Basin with distributing 200 rain barrels at the District’s January 18 event in El Segundo.

Carson Lions Club

Volunteers assisted West Basin with distributing 400 rain barrels at the District’s November 16 event in Carson.
