DWR Comment Period Underway for List of Statewide Flood Emergency Response Grants

Twenty-five grants have been proposed by the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) for Round 3 of the Statewide Flood Emergency Response Grant Program. DWR has launched a public comment period regarding the Draft List of Awards through 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2018.

Following the conclusion of the public comment period and a review of the public comments received, DWR will notify each recipient agency of their grant award and publicly release the final list of the grants. These grants are to provide funding for local emergency responders in California to improve their capacity to respond to flood emergencies, specifically outside the legal Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.

The proposed recipients – mostly in Northern and Central California – are recommended to receive as much as $$1,577,451 (Ventura County Watershed Protection District) and as little as a recommended amount — $0 — (Lake County Watershed Protection District). The watershed protection district’s funding components were deemed Not Applicable for Phase 3 funding.

DWR has indicated that most of the funding recommendations include administrative costs up to 5 percent of the project’s total funded work. A full listing of the proposed recipients, the requested amount, the draft award recommendation and funding components can be found below.
