Lake Arrowhead Community Services District receives award from Government Finance Officers Association.

The Lake Arrowhead Community Services District (LACSD) recently received the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada’s (GOA) Distinguished Budget Presentation Award. A Certificate of Recognition for Budget Presentation has been presented to LACSD’s Finance Manager Catherine Cerri. The district serves both water and wastewater customers.

The Distinguished Budget Presentation Award represents commitment by both the agency’s staff and governing board in meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting. In receiving the award the district satisfied nationally recognized guidelines for an effective budget presentation via a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide and a communications device. All budget documents must receive a rating of proficient in all four categories, and the fourteen mandatory criteria within those categories, to receive the award. Receipt of the award represents a significant achievement by the recipient entity.

The GFOA is a professional association serving the needs of nearly 19,000 appointed and elected local, state and provincial-level government officials and other financial practitioners. Headquartered in Chicago, the GFOA’s Distinguished Presentation Awards Program is the only national awards program in governmental budgeting.

Awardees for budgets beginning in 2015 included 1,565 participants. Award recipients provide an excellent example for other governments through the United States and Canada and have pioneered efforts to improve the quality of budgeting amongst their peers.
