EduBucks Program accepting applications

Western Municipal opens grant applications for educators

Applications are now open for Western Municipal Water District’s (Western Water) annual Lois B. Krieger Water Project Grants for Educators (Krieger Grant). The Krieger Grant program funds creative classroom projects that actively engage students in water-related classroom projects that further student understanding of water and its vital role in the community. Grants are awarded to educators for in-person or virtual water education projects. Each educator awarded can receive up to $1,000 for their proposed projects. Teachers can also apply for field trip funding through the grant program.

“Educating our next generation of residents and community leaders is crucial to our goals at Western Water,” shares Mike Gardner, Western Water board president. “We are proud to offer the opportunity to support such hands-on education and are continuously impressed by the creative and meaningful impact we see from these projects.”

The Lois B. Krieger Water Project Grants for Educators was created in honor of the first female President of the Association of California Water Agencies, Lois B. Krieger. She served as Western Water’s representative to The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California Board of Directors for 25 years.

K-12 educators in western Riverside County are encouraged to apply for this grant opportunity.

The application deadline is Friday, Nov. 3, 2023. For more information about Western Water’s grant and scholarship programs, visit WesternWaterCA.gov/KriegerGrantProgram. Learn important details about the application, qualifying schools, and tax requirements affiliated with the grant.
